China hawking Running up and down these hills was fun and at times precarious. If you slipped and rolled you could roll for quite a way before you could stop yourself.

These hares as all hill hares do, would take full advantage of their terrain and run uphill as soon as danger became too close for comfort.

Our goshawks were fit and knew the score and would fly high and wide from the hill to get the height advantage.

All the flights were fast and furious, and many a dust storm was kicked up by a set of fleeing hares back feet.
The hares that were taken were hard won by both hawks and falconers.
